Best Accommodations in Puerto Princesa, Palawan

I have tried the cheap accommodations and the more expensive ones (Legend Palawan and Microtel Palawan), Frankly the cheaper ones are better. I personally like Puerto Pension but generally most of the pension houses in Puerto Princesa are okay as well.

Here is a list of the best places you can stay in:

My personal favorite. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Free Wi-Fi even up to your room. Bed is cozy. Restaurant has a commanding view of the Bay. General area is in city proper - near the market, the airport, restaurants other areas are all just a tricycle away. Just a few steps away from Baywalk.

If you are willing to spend then Legend Palawan is still the best place to stay in to. Great buffet breakfast. Accommodating and helpful staff. Wi-Fi available (with a fee). Basically has all the great features of hotels. Includes airport transfers. General area is in city proper - near the market, the airport, restaurants other areas are all just a tricycle away.

3) Pads
Cheaper version of Legend, they are right beside Legend. So basically has the same features as Legend except for the buffet breakfast.

If its a beach that you actually want to swim in to, is what you want - don't stay here! The actual beach is yards away and the only thing you're left with is the swimming pool. Wi-Fi is only in the lobby. Room is okay specially if you get the ones facing the beach because you have a door directly going out plus they have a lounge chair there beside your door should you want to relax. Buffet breakfast is okay. My only concern with this hotel is its location, its so far away from everything plus there is no cheap transportation if you want to go out.

What ever accommodations you choose, you will surely have a good time. Palawenos are very friendly and helpful :) Will add more to the list soon!

Palawan's best kept secrets

I'm truly blessed! I have been given so many opportunities to travel to Palawan (my favorite city in the country). This time I was able to have my mom and my Bf with me in this wonderful trip. I decided to book a ticket a few months backfor an early celebration of my birthday the same month and got a rate.

A definite must do in Palawan:

*get a travel agent to book your trips! :) Less hassle more fun! For trip bookings you can contactPasyar Tours.

1) Underground River Tour - Okay so its not the best kept secret anymore, but it is still one of the best places in Palawan. Prepare to wait though specially if you travel during the peak season, a lot of people visit this wonder. The wait is worth it though, besides wouldn't you want to see the future "8th wonder of the world"? :P

2) Mangrove Paddle Tour - Since you are in the area of the Underground River, I suggest you also include the Mangrove Paddle Tour and meet Lady Mangrove in person! :) Expect a lecture on Mangroves, A face to face with the Tamilok (Woodworm), Snakes on the branches, beautiful chirping from birds I could not distinguish, a mangrove song (which you will be singing to yourself even after the trip) and just a happy feeling. Lady Mangrove sure has this effervescence and it was getting to us as well.

3) Dolphin Watching - Unlike in some areas, Dolphins here are everywhere. You will not be disappointed! you will definitely see a minimum of 30 dolphins, from my previous visit I saw more than a hundred!

4) Firefly Watching - Fireflies? Yes fireflies! I didn't know till Pasyar Tours mentioned it to me. So we squeezed it on the night before our return back to Manila. It was worth it! No words or pictures will suffice to explain the emotions experienced there. I felt like a kid again looking at so many christmas lights on the trees and in the water. Since it was not too visible on the pictures and the video, I decided to buy the glow in the dark painting they were selling there. :)

I have so many experiences in Palawan that were so worth my while. Catch more of my posts about Palawan soon :)

Connecting again...

It has been a while since I have written anything. For the past year it has mostly been “hate entries” because of one specific person I just despised so much.I just lost my zest for writing.

I’m back.I want to get in touch with the world again.Just recently I decided that its time to show more appreciation for the people who has been there for me no matter what.

For the past months I have been calling, sending text messages and emails to my friends and family, or even just a simple “poke” to let them know I have thought of them.

One of the most appreciated gestures I did was when I sent my friends and other family members greeting cards in their mobile phones and some in the regular snail mail.I particularly likedwww.mistergreetingcard.com because they had these cute puppy cartoons that made everything unique. The site had so much to offer I just want to shout it out to everyone to try it!

Simple ways of showing you care has been definitely worth my while.Their simple replies and ‘thank you’ brought back connections and stronger bonds.I liked it and I definitely missed it.Will be definitely sending them more greetings every so often.
